Helen Wooten

Mrs. Helen Sauls Wooten, 85, of Kathy Avenue in Hampton, died Monday afternoon, December 30, 2019 at her residence after an extended illness.

Mrs. Wooten was born October 23, 1934 in Hampton County, a daughter of the late Joe and Lillie Sauls.  She had worked at the Westinghouse Plant in Hampton and was a member of Hampton First Baptist Church.  She enjoyed fishing and going hunting with her late husband, Ray Wooten and was an Atlanta Braves fan.

Surviving are: her daughter:  Angie W. Bunton and husband Scott of Estill; son:  Benjie Wooten and wife Lisa of Rincon, Georgia; sisters:  Martha Gibson of Mullins and JoAnn Hess of New York; grandchildren:  Elizabeth Bunton, Scott Bunton, Jr., Zach Wooten and Jordy Mole.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Friday in the chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home with burial in the Johnson-St. Paul Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday morning beginning at 10 AM prior to services at the Funeral Home.
