Mr. Harold Ernest Mole of Cummings died Wednesday at his residence after a brief illness.
Mr. Mole was born in Charleston County October 1, 1942, a son of the late Harold and Geneva Smith Mole. He retired from The State newspaper after over 30 years of service. He was Head Deacon and acted in many other roles at Deep Branch Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Southern Baptist Association. He dearly loved his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He loved to be outdoors hunting fishing or shrimping. He was also a Coast Guard Veteran.
Surviving are: Son: Ricky Mole and wife April of Cummings; Brothers: David Mole and wife Loretta, Nolen Mole and Clary Mole and wife Faye; Grandchildren: Jordy and wife Rachel, Briley and Jase; and Great-granddaughter: Elise. There are a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Mole was predeceased by his loving wife of 52 years, Hazel Crews Mole and a son, Randy Ernest Mole.
Funeral services will be 3 PM Saturday in the Deep Branch Baptist Church with burial in the Church Cemetery directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton and Saturday until 2 PM when the casket will be placed in the church prior to services.
