Griffith Lynn "Griff" Ferguson

Mr. Griffith Lynn "Griff" Ferguson, 54, of Estill, died Tuesday evening at his residence after an extended illness.

Mr. Ferguson was born July 10, 1964 in Hampton County, a son of the late Jesse Griffith Ferguson, III and Mary Helen Roberds Ferguson.  He was a graduate of Bamberg High School and studied at Johnson & Whales University for Culinary Arts.  He loved to cook and worked as a chef on Dataw Island for several years before becoming disabled due to health issues.  He was a member of  Estill Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by one brother:  Lemuel Madison Ferguson (Diann) of Orangeburg, SC;  a great niece:  Leigha Elizabeth Maier of Orangeburg;  a special friend:  Gene Dennis, Jr. of Estill; and a loyal pet, "Girlfriend".

Funeral services will be 4 PM Sunday in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Dr. Jamie Norris with burial to be scheduled at a later date.

Visitation will begin at 3 PM prior to services at the Chapel located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.
