Mr. Danny Gregg Freeman, 63, husband of Kelly Clifton Freeman, resident of Mount Pleasant Church Road in Fairfax, died Tuesday evening, January 14, 2025, in the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro, surrounded by his loving family.

Born November 24, 1961, in the Allendale County Hospital in Fairfax, Gregg was the son of the late William Leroy Freeman and Beatrice Cook Freeman.  He graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in 1985 and went on to work as a Surveying Engineer at Plant Vogtle.  Gregg also served as a volunteer firefighter for many years with the Ulmer Fire Department and the Fairfax Fire Department. A lover of math; he enjoyed bird watching, southern rock, NPR, old cars and their mechanics, and especially traveling with his wife. Above all, Gregg will be remembered for the love he had for his family, especially the joy of being "Pappy" to his grandchildren.

He was a member of Fairfax First Baptist Church in Fairfax.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are his daughters:  Jessica Cope (Ryan) of Early Branch and Kristen Padgett (Chris) of Estill; his sons:  Blake Rhoden (Bobby Newsom) and Bradley Rhoden (Megan) all of Varnville; his adored grandsons: Eli, Noah, Joseph, and Levi, and a granddaughter on the way, Amelia, who was already very loved by her Pappy; one sister, Martha Ann Donehue (Michael) of Fairfax; one brother, Kenny Freeman (Linda) of Fairfax, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who each had a special relationship with him.

Funeral Services will be 2 PM Sunday, January 19, 2025, in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home conducted by Pastor Brian Trent. Burial will follow in the Fairfax Cemetery.

A visitation will begin at 1 PM prior to services and last until the hour of service in the chapel.

Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home is assisting the Freeman family during this time.
