Greg Altman

Mr. Gregory Eugene "Greg" Altman, 61, of Horseshoe Road near Hampton died Thursday evening, December 24, 2020 at his residence after an extended illness.

Mr. Altman was born July 21, 1959 in Allendale County, a son of the late Robbie Eugene Altman and Faye All Ayer Altman Freeman.  He had been a truck driver with Ferguson Forest Products for 23 years and was a member of Sandy Run Baptist Church.  Greg was a fun-loving, outgoing, people person that never met a stranger.  He was smooth on the dance floor and when he heard music, he grabbed a shagging partner.  The family would like to give special thanks to Frampton Ferguson, the Ferguson Forestry Products family, Mr. Murch Moorer of Principal Financial Group, Crescent Hospice, Dr. Luis Vega of Palmetto Primary Care Physicians and staff, Dr. Majd Chahin of SC Cancer Specialists and staff and especially his caregivers.

Surviving is his brother:  Arthur Earl Ayer and wife Mary of Olar; sisters:  Janet Ulmer and husband Randy of Lodge and Mary Benton and husband Ernest of Brunson; step-children:  Heather Lawson, Gene Cook, Jr., Fallon Cook and Brittany Allison, all of Hampton.

Graveside services will be 3 PM Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Sandy Run Cemetery directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home of Hampton.
