Grace Bishop Gooding

Mrs. Grace Bishop Gooding, 92, resident of Hampton, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2025, in the John E. Harter Nursing Facility in Fairfax, after an extended illness.

Born January 22, 1933, Mrs. Gooding was the daughter of the late George Frank Bishop and Cynthia Altman Bishop. She worked over 42  years as a bookkeeper and secretary with 16 of those years being for Peeples Funeral Home.

Mrs. Gooding was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hampton.

Surviving are one nephew, Douglas Faye Gooding (Sandra) of Hampton; several great nephews:  David Gooding, Craig Gooding (Angie), Lance Gooding (Mandy), and special friends who were like family, Janice Cope Priester (Angus) of Hampton and Johnny Cope (Debra) of Varnville.

Mrs. Gooding is predeceased by her son, Ben Gooding, and her sister, Frankie Bishop Gooding.

Graveside Services will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, March 4, 2025, in the Hampton Cemetery, conducted by Rev. Emerson Wiles.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hampton Cemetery Association.

Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home is assisting the Gooding family during this time.
