Glenn David Thames, Jr., 43, of Summerville entered into eternal rest with our heavenly father June 2, 2019 at the Trident Medical Center.
David was born in Allendale August 18, 1975, the loving son of Glenn David Thames, Sr. and Rebecca Bryant Thames. He was a lifelong firefighter serving at the North Charleston Fire Department and retiring from the John's Island Fire Department. He had also volunteered with the City of Charleston Fire Department. David was a loving and devoted father to his children, a great son to his parents and a friend to many. He always had a big heart and would help anyone he could. He will be sorely missed by many.
Surviving are his parents of Summerville; sons: Tanner and Dawson Thames of Pineville, West Virginia, and Bryce Thames of Summerville; daughters: Savannah and Emily Thames of Summerville; his loving fiancé: Christine Laux; sisters: Julie Lynn (Larry) Hyman and Jenny Rebecca (Jamie) Locklair; nephews: Christopher David Thames, Ashton Drake Thames and Joshua Ray Hyman; nieces: Cheyanna and Sayra Edwards; and great-niece: Drea' Maria Rose.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Thursday in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home with burial in the Sandy Run Cemetery conducted by Rev. Scott Eadie and directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at the Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.
