Mr. Everett Wayne Moore of Dopson Road in Islandton passed away Saturday morning, September 9th, 2023 at his residence after a brief illness.
Mr. Moore was born March 24, 1943, a son of the late Everett Nelson Moore and Alma Acacia "Cashie" Brown Moore, in Piney Creek, North Carolina. He had worked his entire career in the Shoe Manufacturing Industry, and was a member of Adnah United Methodist Church. Mr. Moore was very active with the Masons, was a 32nd degree Mason with the Evergreen Masonic Lodge #153, and served as Master and was a Past Master. He was also a member of the York Rite Body, the Scottish Rite Body, and the Jahab Shrine Club.
Surviving are: his wife, Mildred "Judy" Dopson Moore of Islandton; Daughters Rhonda Lynn Moore Johnson and husband David of Varnville, and Rhonda Leah Tisdale and husband Kent of Morganton, Georgia; and sons David Forbes Jr. and Sam Chaney, both of Islandton. He is also survived by grandchildren Lainey Johnson, Hunter Johnson and wife Katy, Ashley Guffey and husband Brian, Kent Tisdale II, and Tiffany Burnett; as well as great grandchildren Adison Crosby, Graham Crosby, and Buchanan Burnett; nephews Walter "Butch" Moore Jr. and Randy Lee Moore, dear friend Sandy Richardson, and honorary daughter Cindy Davis.
Mr. Moore was predeceased by his parents; Granddaughter Amber Morgan Freeman; Sister Alma Virginia Moore Tosten; and Brother Walter C. "Curt" Moore, Sr.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton from 6 to 8 PM. Funeral services will be at 2 PM Wednesday at Adnah United Methodist Church in Islandton, conducted by Rev. Rick Kelly and Rev. Jim Hensley, with burial in the church cemetery with Masonic Rites.
The family suggests that those who wish may send memorials to the Adnah United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 500 Adnah Church Road, Islandton, S.C. 29929; or to the Evergreen Masonic Lodge #153 at P. O. Box 683, Hampton, S. C. 29924-0683.
