Eugene Robert Bostick

Eugene "Gene" Robert Bostick, 74, went to be with his Lord on August 6, 2019 surrounded by family in Greenville, SC.

Gene was born August 29, 1944 in Estill, SC to Joseph Maner Bostick and Mildred Archambault Bostick.  He was a graduate of Estill High School, attended the Citadel and graduated from Draughon Business School.  Gene was employed by Carolina Commercial Bank and later in the family business, Bostick Oil & Tire Distributors.   He was a founder and served as president of Bostick, Bowers and Padgett, LTD, "BOBOPS" and had recently retired in 2018.

He had a delightful sense of humor, a youthful love of life and contagious laugh and fun-loving spirit that filled any room.  He loved music, dancing and had a passion for golf and loved his golf buddies.  Gene loved the western North Carolina mountains, cheering for his Clemson Tigers, and spending time with his beloved family.  He was a charitable man who worked tirelessly to raise money for the Patrick Henry Academy Booster Club.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his cherished wife of 50 years, Kay Thomas Bostick, his sons Eugene Robert "Bobby" Bostick Jr. (Kristin), Michael Thomas Bostick (Amanda), Matthew McIver Bostick (Angela), and his daughter Sarah Bostick Farrar (Robert).  He is also survived by his sisters Betsy Bostick Miller, Mary Grantham Sanders and his brother Joseph Maner Bostick, Jr.   Gene was adored by his 6 grandchildren, Caroline, Jackson, Maddie, Everette, Virginia and Mary Bostick.

A celebration of life service will be held at Lawtonville Baptist Church, Estill, SC on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 2 PM.  The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall immediately following the service.
