VARNVILLE DATELINE:

Mr. Elliott Edward Smith Jr. of Edward S. Mixon Road near Varnville, died Saturday, July 08, 2023, in the evening at his residence.

Mr. Smith was born April 24, 1942 in Jasper County, a son of the late Elliott Edward Smith Sr. and Annie Davis Smith. He was a Machinist and retired from the Utica Tool Company in Orangeburg, and also had worked for the Westinghouse Company in Hampton. He loved Drawing and Art and working in his yard with different types of Wildlife Scenes. Mr. Smith was married to the late Miriam Mixson Smith.

Surviving are:  Two sons:  Edward Brian Smith and wife Marilee of Neeses, and Dwayne Smith and wife April of Orangeburg; Sisters:  Annie Lou Mock of Varnville, Faye Brown of Hampton, and JoAnn McAlhaney of Hampton; and Two Brothers:  Lee Smith and Marvin Smith of Varnville. There are three grandchildren:  Hudson, Savannah, and Madison Smith.

Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Thursday, July 13, 2023, in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Dr. Tommy Kelly, with burial in the Sand Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday morning at 10 A.M. prior to the services at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, located at 300 Mulberry Street West Hampton, SC
