Ellen Parler Stoudenmire Sellars of Mullins passed away Saturday, September 24th at MUSC Carolinas in Florence after an extended illness. She was 69. Ellen was born in Sumter, South Carolina on September 26, 1952, the daughter of the late David Edward "Ed" Stoudenmire, Sr. and the late Mamie Rhodes Stoudenmire.

Mrs. Sellars was a 1974 graduate of Clemson University, and an avid Tiger fan who was ever loyal. In 1976, she graduated from Francis Marion College with her Masters of Education degree. Ellen loved children and was an early childhood education teacher having spent most of her 42 years of service to children at North Mullins Primary School and Annex. She was also a homemaker, who along with her husband, Bobby, raised three children in a loving, Christian home. A member of Macedonia United Methodist Church, she enjoyed making music with the Anderson Bell Ringers and serving on various committees through the years. She was the president and treasurer of Alpha Zeta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, treasurer of Loris Garden Club, other Christian circles, worked in civic affairs throughout her life, and was a member of the Nichols American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Bobby Carl Sellars of Mullins; three children, John Paul (Beth) Sellars of Lexington, SC, Caroline S. Counts of Hendersonville, NC, and Julia S. (Cedrick) Washington of Woodbridge, VA; a sister, Linda S. (Leroy) Thompson of Sanford, NC and one brother, David E. Stoudenmire Jr. of Loris; and five grandchildren, Brayton D. Nobles of Woodbridge, Clark E. and Cara E. Counts of Hendersonville, and K. Rollin and W. Troupe Cartee of Lexington, SC.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 27th at Meares Funeral Home in Mullins. Funeral services will be held at Macedonia United Methodist Church beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2022. Graveside services will be held Sunday, October 2nd, at 3:00 p.m. at Lawtonville Cemetery in Estill, SC.
