Mrs. Elizabeth Tuten Montgomery, 80, of Varnville, died Saturday morning, November 7, 2020, in Colleton Regional Medical Center in Walterboro.
Mrs. Montgomery was born August 26, 1940 in Hampton County, a daughter of the late John W. Tuten and Margaret Stanley Tuten. She had worked with B & S Cleaners for many years and was a member of Sandy Run Baptist Church where she had been active with her Sunday School Class, the Dear Hearts Circle and the WMU. Mrs. Montgomery and her husband loved to square dance.
Surviving is her daughter: Lisa McWilliams and husband Donnie of Clinton; sisters: Naomi Kicklighter and husband Russell of Islandton, Vera Miller of Varnville and Elaine Ginn and husband Jesse of Varnville; brother: Tommy Tuten and wife Linda of Varnville; granddaughters: Lynne Stanley and husband Alex of Hampton and Chasey Walker of Clinton; and one great-granddaughter: Charlotte Stanley of Hampton. There are a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Montgomery was predeceased by her husband Harry Freland Montgomery; daughter: Sherry Elizabeth Montgomery; sisters: Margaret Swain and Veda Polk; and a brother: Walter Tuten.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Tuesday in Sandy Run Baptist Church with burial in Sandy Run Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 PM at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.
