Mrs. Eleanor Thomas Ashworth, passed away Sunday, February 04, 2024 at the Wellstar Paulding Hospital in Hiram, Georgia.
Mrs. Ashworth was born November 30, 1931 in Hampton, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Jacob Franklin Thomas and Elihugh Sauls Thomas. She retired as the Assistant Librarian with Savannah Country Day.
Survivors are son, James F. "Jim" Ashworth and wife Janet of Dallas, Georgia and daughter, Sheri L. Ashworth and husband Rick Goffin of Roswell, Georgia; grandchildren, J. Spencer Ashworth and wife Leslie, Stephanie A. Brazil and husband, James, great-grandchildren; Kennedy Ashworth, McClain Ashworth; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by grand-daughter, Melanie Ashworth and great-grand son, James Brazil; brother, Jerald Thomas; sister, Frankie Caldwell; half-brother, Harold Thomas; and half-sisters, Virginia Smith, Ruth Berry, Mary Etta Baker, and Velona Wingate.
Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Sandy Run Cemetery, Hampton, South Carolina, conducted by Steve DeLoach and directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, 300 Mulberry Street West, Hampton, South Carolina.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in Eleanor's memory to her charities, JT Brazil Memorial Fund 2919 High Shoals Road, Dallas, GA 30132 and Downs Syndrome of Atlanta, 2221 Peachtree Rd NE, Suite D226, Atlanta, GA 30309 in honor of McClain Ashworth.
