Eileen Sanders

Mrs. Eileen Sanders, of Pond Town Road, Brunson, SC passed away Thursday evening, November 02, 2023.

Eileen Sanders was born October 12, 1940, in Hampton County, she is the daughter of the late John Franklin Freeman and Elihue Terry Freeman. Eileen was a retired seamstress after many years of employment at the local alteration and fabric shop, Maxine's.  She enjoyed planting and caring for her flowers, and was thrilled to share them with others.  She will be missed and remembered by her family and friends as a great cook, a loving and caring person, and a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She was a member of Varnville Baptist Church, Varnville, South Carolina.

Eileen is survived by her children:  Phyllis Warren (Ricky) of Hampton,  Ricky Smith (Elaine) of Varnville, and Marsha Gibson (Marty) of Cummings.  There are six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her husband of 38 years, Jackie Sanders, her brothers, Lewis, Marvin, Lockwood, and Larry Freeman, and sisters, Melda Kinard and Dot Long.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Dr. Tommy Kelly and Rev. Aaron Winn with burial in the Rivers Cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday prior to the services from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the Chapel, located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.
