Edward Henry Hanna, Iii

Edward Henry Hanna III of Allendale went to our Lord and Savior on Monday, January 29, 2018. Born May 1, 1954 in Hampton, SC, he was the son of the late Edward Henry Hanna Jr. and Barbara Newman Hanna. Mr. Hanna was a member of Lawtonville Baptist Church. He will be remembered as a generous and loving person extending hospitality to all people including family and longtime friends as well as new people he met. Mr. Hanna was the founder of The Hanna Company and creator of BIG ED's HEIRLOOM BBQ SAUCE. Mr. Hanna demonstrated his faith in Christ by the way he generously gave to others and treated people.

Survivors include his immediate family; loving wife Barbara Mack Hanna, Matthew Dukes Hanna and wife Alissa, Ellen Jones, Daniel Jones and wife Ashley and their son Wil, siblings Chris Hanna and wife Laurie, Fred Hanna and wife Mary, loving nieces Rachel Hanna and Annie Laurie Hanna, and nephews Michael Hanna and Fred Hanna Jr. to whom he was affectionately known as "Uncle Beatie." He is also fondly remembered by his many other nieces and nephews. "Big Ed" as he was known to friends had the heart of a lion .

A memorial service will be held at 3 PM Friday, February 2, at Lawtonville Baptist Church in Estill, SC with Brian Toney officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church social hall.
