Edith Harrison Trowell

Born June 5, 1956, she was known by her family and friends as "Ede".  She was the daughter of Barbara Harrison Johnson and the late Lewis Monroe "Luke" Trowell.  Her maternal grandparents were the late Mr. and Mrs. John Gary Evans Harrison.  Her paternal grandparents were the late Mr. and Mrs. William Benjamin Trowell.

A graduate of Allendale-Fairfax High School, Ede attended Winthrop University and the University of South Carolina.  A lifelong lover of the Arts, Ede's talent showed in her painting, singing, and poetry.  She was a member of Bellinger Chapel United Methodist Church in Fairfax.

Ede is survived by her mother, Barbara Johnson of Fairfax; daughter, ZoE Henderson McCrary and husband Mac of Furman; one granddaughter, MaryHarrison McCrary of Furman; two sisters, Karen Trowell Barron and husband Robert of Hilton Head Island, and her twin, Ellen Harrison Trowell of Fairfax.  Ede is predeceased by her husband, Michael S. Brown; and her father, Luke Trowell.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the Brunson Cemetery, conducted by Reverend Tyler Strange and directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home.  Visitation will follow the service.
