Mrs. Edith Elaine Ginn Peed, of Co-op Road, wife of Melvin Peed, III, passed away Monday, January 22, 2024 at her residence.

Mrs. Peed was born May 18, 1943 in Hampton County, the daughter of the late Joseph Frank Ginn and Arizona Ginn.  She was a member of the Nixville Baptist Church and worked at the Melon Patch Child Care facility in Hampton.

Surviving in addition to her husband are daughters, Cindy Scott and husband Archie and Patty Rodeffer and husband Mike of Hardeeville, four grandchildren, Daniel Meador, Samantha Lee, Dalton Cooler, and Kelsey Rodeffer, along with three great grandchildren; sister, Julia Tant and husband Bobby;  brother, Benjamin Ginn and wife, Elaine; sister-in-law's, Betty Ginn and Marie Ann Ginn all of Nixville; step daughters, Linda Kazmierski and husband Ed, Debbie Elrod and husband Garry, and Diane Fordham and husband Rick; daughter-in-law, April Cooler, along with a host of nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Peanut.  She was predeceased by a son, Dale Cooler, also 11 brothers and sisters.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Nixville Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Paul Creason and directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, with burial at the Ginn Cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednesday, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.
