Earl Robert Muckenhirn

Mr. Earl Robert Muckenhirn of Smith Street in Varnville, died Sunday night, April 9, 2023, in the Allendale County Hospital, after a brief illness.

Mr. Muckenhirn was born January 4, 1944 in Pontiac, Michigan a son of the late Willis and Marian Capling Muckenhirn. He had retired from the Westinghouse Plant in Hampton as a Lab Technician, and was a member of the Varnville First Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing Golf, and was a Car Enthusiast, especially building motors for many people in the lowcountry area. Mr. Muckenhirn was also an Army Veteran.

Surviving are:  His wife:  Janet Tapley Muckenhirn of Varnville; Sons:  David Lee of Ruffin, and Justin Nix of Omaha, Nebraska; Daughter:  Andrea Murphy of Katy, Texas; Brother:  Dale Muckenhirn of Michigan; Sisters:  JoAnne Salk of Florida, Jeanne Combs of Michigan, Marilyn Tuttle of Wisconsin; and grandchildren:  Laura and Robert Murphy, Elsie Nix, Taylor, Tyler, Trinton, and Peyton Lee.

Mr. Muckenhirn was predeceased by his First Wife; Genevieve Muckenhirn, and a Brother:  Gerald Muckenhirn.

Memorial services will be 11 A.M. Friday, April 14, 2023, in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton, conducted by Rev. Dr. Tommy Kelly.

Visitation will be Friday morning at 10 A.M. prior to the service at the Funeral Home
