Douglas Kinard

Mr. Douglas Jarrell Kinard, Sr. of York Street North in Fairfax, died late Saturday night in the University Hospital in Augusta.

Mr. Kinard was born January 23, 1942 in the Nixville Community of Hampton County, a son of the late Harold and Demaris Jarrell Kinard.  He had worked at the Georgia Pacific Lumber Company in Varnville for 35 years and also, Collum's Lumber Company in Allendale until his retirement.  His favorite hobby was fishing.

Surviving are:  His wife:  Virginia Louise Ray Kinard of Fairfax;  Daughters:  Patricia Reid and husband Johnnie of  Blackville, and Norma Pittinger and husband Duane of Bluffton;  Sons:  Roy Gibson of Fairfax, and Douglas Kinard, Jr. and wife Meredith of Allendale;  Brothers:  Harry Kinard and wife Bobby Jean of Grays, Donald Kinard of Grays, and Jack Kinard and wife Joye of Barnwell;  and one sister:  Sharon Wilson and husband Jerome of Grays.  There are 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  Mr. Kinard was predeceased by a grandson:  Johnnie Reid, Jr., and three brothers:  Floyd, M.T., and Billy Kinard.

Funeral services have been rescheduled for 11 A.M. Wednesday at the Spirit of Life Ministries Church near Varnville, conducted by Rev. David Schaffer with burial in the Nixville Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday at the funeral home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton, from 5 to 7 P.M.
