Donna Deloris Benton

Mrs. Donna Deloris Anderson Benton, 62, of Turpentine Still Road near Brunson, died Sunday afternoon at her residence after an extended illness.

Mrs. Benton was born May 1, 1957 in Chatham County, Georgia, a daughter of the late John "Bobby" Anderson and Mickey Minchey Anderson.  She had retired as head cashier with Gatlins Grocery Store in Fairfax and was a member of the Brunson Baptist Church where she had been active with the Acteens.

Surviving are her husband:  Claude Michael Benton of Brunson;  sisters:  Sonya A. Herring and husband Mike of Monroe, Georgia, Ronda A. Howell and Bonnie A. Tuten of Sylvania, Georgia;  brother:  Johnny Anderson of Sylvania;  sister-in-law:  Dianne Benton Croft of Barnwell;  brother-in-law:  Bill Benton and wife Kim of Brunson;  and grandchildren:  Ansley Nicole Benton and Austin Michael Benton of Barnwell.  Mrs. Benton was predeceased by her parents and her son, Michael Travis Benton.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Wednesday in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home conducted by Rev. R.P. Hodge with burial in the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery near Barnwell.

Visitation will be Wednesday beginning at 1 PM prior to services at the Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.
