Donald Secrest, Sr.

Mr. Donald Zeb Secrest, Sr., 79, of McKnight Lane in Varnville, died Wednesday morning, August 5, 2020 in the Coastal Carolina Hospital in Hardeeville.

Donald was born January 16, 1941 in Monroe, North Carolina, a son of the late T. Zeb Secrest and Pauline Gordon Secrest.  He was married for 56 years to his love, the late Billie Keziah Secrest.  He worked as a steel fabricator in North Carolina for many years until moving to Varnville to be close to his daughter.  Donald was a member of Varnville Baptist Church.  He loved his family, his church family and the Atlanta Braves, but above all, he loved his Lord and Savior.

Surviving are his sons: Don Secrest, Jr. (Joyce) of Monroe, NC, Doug Secrest (Amy) of Waxhaw, NC, and Jason Secrest (Amanda) of Bellevue, NE; daughters:  Karen Reeder (Ricky) of North Myrtle Beach, SC and Sandi Clark (Brian) of Varnville, SC; brother:  Reggie Secrest (Joy) of Monroe, NC; sisters:  Eleanor Griffith (Ken) of Kannapolis, NC, Libby Huneycutt (Jim) of Richmond Hill, GA, and Marsha Tucker (Wayne) of Matthews, NC;  special friends:  Buddy and Virginia Douglas and Joe and Ann Smith; and his special pet, Remy.  There are 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 11 AM Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Sand Hill Cemetery conducted by Rev. Dr. Tommy Kelly and directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home.

Friends may visit with the family immediately following the service.
