Mrs. Deborah Jean Jenkins Hoats of Schley Street in Hampton died Thursday morning from injuries received in an automobile accident near Hampton. She was 66.
Mrs. Hoats was born December 8, 1952 in Columbia, a daughter of Nell G. Cooper Jenkins and the late William R. Jenkins. She was a homemaker and enjoyed working with flowers and crafts. Mrs. Hoats was a member of Sand Hill Baptist Church and was active with many church activities.
Surviving are her husband: Levy Irvin Hoats, Jr. of Hampton; son: Darryl Irvin Hoats of Hampton; daughters: Michelle Jacobs and husband Robert and Amanda Jean DeLoach and husband Tony of Hampton; sister: Valerie Price of Columbia; grandchildren: Trenton DeLoach, Brandon DeLoach, Billy Koon and Kaylee DeLoach; and her mother of Columbia. Mrs. Hoats was predeceased by her father and a sister: Sharon Jenkins.
Funeral services will be Monday, May 20th at 2 PM at Sand Hill Baptist Church conducted by Rev. George Skinner with burial in the Varnville Cemetery directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Monday at the church beginning at 1 PM prior to services.
