Danny “Redneck” Lord

Mr. Luther Daniel Lord, known to most as "Danny" or "Redneck", 59, resident of Grays Highway in Grays, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2025, after being involved in a motorcycle accident.

Born January 15, 1966, in Talbot, Maryland, Redneck was the son of the late Ellwood Layman and Carolyn Faye Lord.  He worked his entire life as a carpenter who notably built custom cabinets, porches, and many other things.  Redneck will be remembered for being able to build just about anything and having a true gift to do the work he did. He thoroughly enjoyed camping, fishing, cooking for his many friends, NASCAR racing, cheering on the South Carolina Gamecocks, going to Harold's Country Club, and was a very avid deer hunter. Redneck was a good hearted man who always enjoyed having a fun time and making others laugh.

Redneck was active in the Salkehatchie Cycles, where he made many good friends.

Surviving are his daughter, Jennifer White and her husband Cody of Conway; his two adored grandchildren, Brooklyn Algarra of Fort Myers, FL and Jordyn White of Conway; his dear friend who he considers his bonus daughter, Christina Gaymon and her husband Zac of Grays, and their children, his bonus grandchildren, Carson Jones and Luke Gaymon of Grays.  He also deeply loved the members of the Bush and Hernandez families, whom he considered part of his.

In addition to his parents, Redneck was predeceased by the love of his life, his fiancé, Caitlyn Cooler.

A Private Celebration of Life for friends and family will be held January 17, 2026, in honor of Redneck's 60th Birthday.
