Christopher Lee Richister, 49, of Suffolk, VA passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Woodrow L. and Nora Vernell (Grantham) Richister; and maternal grandparents, Charles Peeples and Helen Maree (Halford) Barnes Ross.
Christopher served his country for 20 years in the United States Coast Guard. He was a proud veteran who loved God and his country, a true patriot. Prior to his service, Christopher graduated from Patrick Henry Academy and obtained an associate's degree from The University of South Carolina. He was a great father and his sons were his pride and joy. He enjoyed trips to the mountains with his boys as well as hunting and all things outdoors. He was a loving father and son. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his parents, W. S. "Butch" Richister and Bettis (Barnes) Richister; children, Jayce McSwain Richister, Bryan Thomas Richister, and Taylor Richister Sokolik; brother, Lt. Col. Woodrow Stanley "Stan", Jr., USAF; nieces, Audra Elizabeth and Ambralyn Noelle Richister; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 19th at 11 A.M. in the Lawtonville Baptist Church in Estill, conducted by Rev. Dr. Jamie Norris, with burial in the Lawtonville Cemetery in Estill directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, with Military Honors.
Visitation will be Friday, February 18th from 5 to 6:30 P.M. at the Estill Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home located at 330 Clarke Avenue in Estill, and Saturday morning at 10 A.M. after casket is placed in the Lawtonville Baptist Church.
