Charles Henry Yarley, Sr.

Mr. Charles Henry Yarley, Sr., 90, of Willowpeg Way in Rincon, Georgia died Wednesday night in Westwood Nursing Center in Statesboro, Georgia.

Mr. Yarley was born April 4, 1929 in Hampton, SC, a son of the late Auswell and Verna Miley Yarley.  He had retired after 52 years as a barber on Paris Island and the Marine Corp Air Station in Beaufort.  He had served in the Home Guard, the National Guard, Army Air Corp and the Air Force during World War II.  He also had received the honor of being an Honorary Marine.  He was a member of the Clyo United Methodist Church in Clyo, Georgia.

Surviving are his sons:  Charles H. Yarley, Jr. and wife Melanie of Statesboro, Georgia and Wayne David Yarley and wife Linda of Travelers Rest, SC;  sisters:  Mary Mullis of Macon and Gertrude Howard of Monetta.  There are 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.  Mr. Yarley was predeceased by his wife Mary Elizabeth Mims Yarley; sisters:  Norma Winn, Dale Orr and Gloria Parker; a granddaughter, Brittany; and great-granddaughter, Cheyenne.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday in the Clyo United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Al Fernandez with burial in the Mims and Yarley Cemetery near Stokes Bluff Landing in Jasper County, directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home of Hampton.

Visitation will be at the church beginning at 10 AM Saturday prior to services.
