Mr. Charles Jarrell, 81, of Turner Expressway near Estill, died Saturday night, October 24, 2020 in Memorial Health Hospital in Savannah.
Mr. Jarrell was born December 7, 1938 in the Nixville Community of Hampton County, a son of the late Bennie and Dora Nix Jarrell. He had retired from Southern Soya in Estill after 52 years of service. He was a member of Nixville Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, shrimping and gardening in his spare time.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years: Evelyn A. Williams Jarrell; son: Bennie Lockwood Jarrell of Brunson; daughters: Charlene Drawdy of Cummings and Jessica Lightsey and husband Ben of Brunson; brothers: B.L. Jarrell and wife Janet, David R. Jarrell and Edgar Jarrell and wife Lynn, all of Nixville, and Jerry Jarrell and wife Frances of Estill; brothers-in-law: Lewis Smith of North Charleston and Austin Hatcher of Hampton; grandchildren: Casie Brunson and husband Alan, Rachel Rogers and husband Bryce, Eddie Drawdy, Amber and Justin Lightsey. There are four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Jarrell was predeceased by his parents and two sisters: Maybell Smith and Rachel Hatcher and a sister-in-law: Bobbie Jarrell.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Wednesday, October 28, 2020 in Nixville Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Alan Kircher and Rev. Joseph Williams with burial in the Nixville Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 PM at the Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.
