Charles Edward Campbell

Mr. Charles Edward Campbell, 82, of Lake Warren Road near Hampton, died Friday morning, March 30th, in the Hampton Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Campbell was born in Oakwood, South Carolina, November 11, 1935, a son of the late Merrill K. (Happy) Campbell and Ruth Douglas Campbell.  He had retired after 23 years of service in the Air Force.  After retirement he worked for Southern Soya and Rivers Chevrolet Company in Estill.  He had been a Ham Radio Operator in the Hampton County area for many years.

Surviving are:  Sisters:  Marcia Wood of Varnville and Hazel Smith and husband J.L. of Early Branch; a special nephew:  Don Stanley and wife Elaine of Hampton; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 3 PM Sunday in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton conducted by Rev. Billy Stockton with burial in the Sand Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 2 PM Sunday prior to services at the Funeral Home.
