Celia Jones

Mrs. Celia Irene Jenny Jones of the Ashton Community, died Sunday, October 24th, 2021 in the Harter Nursing Home in Fairfax.

Mrs. Jones was born in the Hickory Grove section of Hampton County, December 2, 1930, a daughter of the late F. Cecil Jenny and Ethel Barnes Jenny.  She was a homemaker, and great cook who loved God, her family, and friends.  She loved being in the outdoors, fishing with her husband, caring for her animals, and cleaning her yard.  Mrs. Jones was a member of the Lodge United Methodist Church in Lodge, S.C.  She was the widow of Donald L. (Duck) Jones.

Surviving are:  Son: Donald L. (Donnie) Jones Jr. and wife Deborah of Brunson; Grandson: Nicholas L. (Nick) Jones and wife Felicia of Brunson; Seven Great Grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; Sister: Ethel Jenny Carner of Ashton; Sister in Law: Myrtice Moody Jenny of Adams Run, S.C.; Brother in Law; Dr. E.M. (Marshall) Jones and wife Marian of Ashton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Jones was predeceased by her parents and husband; Son: Richard A. (Ricky) Jones; Granddaughter: Janet Jones Reno Jackson and husbands Michael A. Reno and Jerry Eugene Jackson Jr.; Grandson: James R. (Jamie) Jones; Sisters: Addie J. Cox and June J. Copeland; Brothers: C.B. (Bernard) Jenny and W.R. (Bob) Jenny; and special friends: Ed and Martha Dowler.

Funeral services will be 2PM Thursday, October 28th, in the chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton, conducted by Rev. Danny Fogle with burial in the St. Nicholas Lutheran Church Cemetery, near Fairfax.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 6PM – 8PM at the funeral home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.  Flowers will be accepted, but donations are requested to be sent to St. Nicholas Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 68, Fairfax, S.C. 29827.  The family would like to thank the staff of the John Edward Harter Nursing Center for their care, compassion, and love over the past few years.
