Cathy Wynn Cook

Mrs. Cathy Yvonne Wynn Cook, 69, resident of Walterboro Highway near Varnville, wife of Chris Cook, passed away Wednesday evening, March 18, 2026, at Memorial Hospital in Savannah, Georgia.

Born February 16, 1957, in Hampton County, Mrs. Cook was the daughter of the late Marion Jackson "Jack" Wynn and the late Joanne Wooten Wynn. Raised in Hampton, she was a graduate of Wade Hampton High School and worked in many capacities throughout her life. Most importantly, she was a homemaker who deeply loved her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Mrs. Cook was a member of Varnville First Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to her loving husband of 52 years, Chris Cook, of the home, is her son, Brandon Cook (Maria) of Yemassee; her daughter, Brittany Cook (Gene Rosier) of Grays, her sister, Sheron Barnes (Bill) of Hampton, and her adored grandchildren, Matthew Fowler, Madeline Cook, Natalie Cook, and Tallulah Cook. She is also survived by a nephew, William Barnes (Kathleen) of Beaufort and their daughters, Anne Francis and Sallie, as well as many other beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be 2 PM Saturday, March 21, 2026, in the Life Center at Varnville First Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Dr. Thomas H. Kelly, Jr., with burial following in the Hampton Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 1 PM Saturday prior to services in the Life Center and will last until the hour of the service.

Pallbearers will be Scottie Cook, William Barnes, Heath Drew, Jesse Drew, Matthew Fowler, and Brandon Marchyshyn.

The family requests that those who wish send memorials in Mrs. Cook's honor to the Varnville First Baptist Church, 165 E. Palmetto Ave., Varnville, SC 29944.
