Carolyn Frances Ramsay

COLUMBIA, SC:

Carolyn Frances Ramsay, 90, of Columbia, SC passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday December 4, 2024. She was born in Statesboro GA, to the late Miriam Canday and Ernest Ramsay.

Carolyn was a 1953 graduate of Denmark High School.  She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and a master's degree in education from the University of South Carolina. She was an Art teacher for over 35 years. She was a lampwork glass bead artist, jewelry maker, painter, creator of miniature food for her doll house, photographer, gardener, genealogist, and she has written 3 books.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Louis Grady.

She is survived by her brother Ernest Ramsay (Barbara), two children Stephen C. Hattrich (Melissa) and Caroline R. Hattrich; two stepchildren Marta O. Grady, Sean O. Grady (Gerri). Grandchildren: Brandon T. Hattrich, Ryan C. Hattrich; Jennifer J. Clark, Kaitlyn Jackson, Keenan Grady, and Faolan Grady. As well as many family, friends and students.

A Celebration of Life and visitation was held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 1 pm at the Christ Episcopal Church 5266 Carolina Highway, Denmark, SC 29042.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Denmark County Club, 353 Byrnes St, Denmark SC 29042.

Folk Funeral Home assisted the family with initial arrangements.

A private burial will take place privately, April 5, 2025, in the Lawtonville Cemetery in Estill.

Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home is assisting the family with local arrangements.
