Bunny Dobson

Mrs. Marian Lorene "Bunny" Johnson Dobson, 86, of Pine Street East in Varnville died early Friday morning, May 8, 2020 at her residence.

Mrs. Dobson was born September 17, 1933 in Jasper County, a daughter of the late John Mack Johnson and Virginia Smith Johnson.  She was a retired seamstress and had worked with several garment plants in the Hampton County area.  She was a member of Pine Level Baptist Church and dearly loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Surviving is her husband of 67 years: John Brantley "J.B." Dobson of Varnville; sons:  Michael Dobson and wife Susan of Orangeburg and Kenny Dobson and wife Tammy of Varnville; daughter:  Brenda Brown of Varnville; brothers:  Olin Johnson of Ridgeland and Henry Johnson of Gillisonville; grandchildren:  Erin Way and husband Mitch of Lexington, Brian Dobson of Clemson, Dr. Jonathan Strickland, Jeffrey Strickland and Cassie Brown, all of Varnville.  Mrs. Dobson was predeceased by a son:  Carroll Wayne Dobson.

The family suggests that those who wish may send memorials to the Grimes Cemetery Association, c/o Robert Rowell, 896 Old Tram Road, Varnville, SC 29944.

In lieu of the situation that currently exists in the nation with the coronavirus pandemic, the family will hold a private graveside service Sunday at 3 PM in the Grimes Cemetery conducted by Elder Robert Dobson and directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home.
