Brenda Reid Thames

Mrs. Brenda Gayle Reid Thames, 76, resident of Tinker Town Road in Fairfax, wife of James Ray Thames, passed away Wednesday morning, April 23, 2025, at her residence.

Born on August 29, 1948, in Hampton County, Mrs. Thames was the daughter of the late Peter Donald Reid, Sr. and Edna Long Reid. She graduated from Hampton High School in 1966 and continued her education studying accounting. Mrs. Thames worked at Fairfax Dimension, retiring after many years of service. She dearly loved her grandchildren. Mrs. Thames enjoyed reading and will be remembered for spreading the Word and telling others about the Lord.

Mrs. Thames was a member of Open Arms Fellowship Church in Hampton.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two sons, Barry Thames and his wife Wendy of Barnwell and Jamie Thames and his wife Bridgett of Hampton; four grandchildren, Trey and his wife Haley, Nolan, Courtney and Peyton; two great-grandchildren, Gage and Jadyn; two brothers, Johnnie Reid and his wife Patricia of Barnwell and Larry Reid his wife Dorothy of Barnwell; two sisters, Patricia Ann Reid Brant of Ulmer and Sandra Reid Gray of Hampton; three sisters-in-law, Ivy Reid of Estill, Leona Reid of Barnwell and Tonia Mock Reid of Whitmire; and many nieces, nephews and cousins who she loved dearly.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thames is preceded in death by three brothers, Peter Donald Reid, Jr., Kenneth Reid and Lloyd Franklin Reid; a brother-in-law, Rusty Brant.

Funeral service will be held at 11 AM Friday, April 25, 2025, in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, 300 Mulberry Street, West, Hampton, SC 29924, with burial to immediately follow in Hampton Cemetery located on Holly Street East, Hampton, SC 29924.

A visitation will begin at 10 AM Friday, lasting until the hour of the service in the Chapel
