Betty Harden Simmons

Mrs. Betty Jo Harden Simmons, 86, resident of West Pulaski Drive in Hampton, wife of Tex Grover Simmons, died early Friday morning, December 27, 2024, in the Select Specialty Hospital in Augusta, Georgia, after an extended illness.

Born January 17, 1938, Mrs. Simmons was the daughter of the late Louis Herbert Harden and Goldie Crews Harden. She was a homemaker who will be remembered for the love she had for her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and countless additional family members.

Mrs. Simmons was a member of the Hampton First Baptist Church.

In addition to her loving husband of 64 years, she is survived by her sons: Rodney Grover (Robbin) Simmons of Austin, Texas and Carl Edison (Theresa) Simmons of Pelion; two brothers; one sister; 10 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Simmons is predeceased by her parents; a son and daughter-in-law, Brett Cleveland Simmons and Margaret "Peggy" Waller Simmons, and two sisters.

Funeral Services will be 12 PM Monday, December 30, 2024, in the Hampton First Baptist Church located at 305 Oak Street in Hampton, SC 29924 conducted by Rev. Emerson Wiles. Burial will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery.

A visitation will begin at 11 AM prior to services in the church.
