Betty Elizabeth Sauls Padgett

Mrs. Betty Elizabeth Sauls Padgett, 84, of Hampton died early Wednesday morning, November 21, 2018, in the Hampton Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.

Mrs. Padgett was born September 18, 1934 in Hampton, a daughter of the late Gettis and Edna Bowers Sauls.  She was the owner and operator of the Merle Norman Cosmetics Store on Lee Avenue in Hampton, a member of the Lillie Chapter # 27 Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Hampton First Baptist Church.

Surviving are:  one brother: Johnny Sauls and wife Sandra of Shiloh, NC; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Padgett was predeceased by: her husband:  Charlie Cranvel Padgett; brothers: William "Buddy" Sauls, Jimmy Sauls and Richard Sauls; and sister: Marie Jarrell.

Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Friday in the Johnson-St. Paul Cemetery in Hampton conducted by Rev. Michael Polk and directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Friday morning at the Funeral Home prior to the service at the cemetery.

The family will be at the home of Patsy and Charlie Sauls, 833 3rd Street N.E., in Hampton.
