Betty Deloris Overstreet

Mrs. Betty Deloris Lightsey Overstreet, 90, of Varnville died Sunday afternoon, March 01, 2020 at the Pruitt Health Care Facility in Estill.

Mrs. Overstreet was born March 29, 1929 in Hampton County, a daughter of the late Robert G. and Irene Tuten Lightsey.  She had retired from Garland Mills in Beaufort as a service operator and was a member of Open Arms Fellowship Church in Hampton.  Mrs. Overstreet was a member of the Hampton County Senior Citizens, enjoyed crocheting, fishing and dearly loved her family.  She was the widow of Henry A. Overstreet and Thomas S. Bennett.

Surviving are her daughters:  Betty Jean Kinard of Fairfax, Elizabeth Martin of Islandton and Lanette Bennett of Varnville; son:  Raymond Bennett and wife Vonna of Varnville; brothers:  Robert Lightsey, Jr. and wife Dorothy, Charles Lightsey and wife Shirley and LaVerne Lightsey;  sisters:  Helen Johnson, Louise Ulmer and husband George and Virginia Smith and husband Gettis.  There are 16 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Overstreet was predeceased by her husbands and two great-granddaughters:  Hanna and Kayla Stanley.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Wednesday at Open Arms Fellowship Church 402 Hoover Street North in Hampton conducted by Rev. James Porter with burial in the Gooding Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 PM at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.

The family will be at the home of her granddaughter, Angie Holland, 317 Preacher Street in Brunson, SC.
