HAMPTON : Betty Elaine Mims Hutto of Cain Street in Hampton, widow of the late Richard O. Hutto Sr., died Friday morning in the Hampton Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Hutto was born July 8, 1937 in Bowman, a daughter of the late Marion D. Mims Sr. and Thelma Linder Mims. She had retired from Hampton School District One, and was a member of the Hampton United Methodist Church, where she was a former Choir Member, and was active in many other church activities. Mrs. Hutto was also active in other community functions, but dearly loved cooking and caring for her family.
Surviving are: Daughters: Linda Youmans and husband Gary of Furman, and Elaine "Pooh" Boykin and husband Barry of Lyman; Sons: Brien Hutto of Hampton, Gene Hutto and wife Cindy of Varnville, Jack Hutto and wife Mary of Hampton, and Rich Hutto and wife Jenny of Auburn, Indiana; and one Sister: Dixie O'Cain and husband Jimmy of Bowman. There are 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Monday in the Hampton United Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Ross Chelis and Rev. Fran Connell, with burial in the Hampton Cemetery, directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton. The family will visit with friends immediately following the service at the Hampton Cemetery.
