Betty Harvey Thomas

Mrs. Betty Harvey Thomas of Charleston Highway near Hampton, died Saturday morning at her residence.

Mrs. Thomas was born Feb. 12, 1933 in the Miley community in Hampton County, a daughter of the late Charles Alva Harvey Sr. and Agnes Cook Harvey. She had retired from the Hampton County Bank as Head Teller, and was a member of the Sandy Run Baptist Church. She devoted her time to caring for her family, and was known as an excellent cook preparing special pies and cakes for many Hampton County Families. Mrs. Thomas was the widow of Wilbur R. Thomas.

Surviving are: Two Sons: Ronald Thomas of Hampton, and Stefan Thomas and wife Susan of Hampton; Sister: Jacqueline Livingston of Tampa, Florida; and grandchildren; Colby Thomas and wife Kassie, and Travis Coffman, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Tuesday in the Sandy Run Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Dr. Rhyan Ashcraft, with burial in the Sandy Run Cemetery directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Tuesday beginning at 1 P.M. at the church prior to the services.
