Betty Herndon Deloach

Mrs. Betty Herndon DeLoach, 98, resident of McKenzie Trail in Furman, SC, widow of the late Fred Walton DeLoach, Sr., passed away Wednesday morning, September 24, 2025, at her residence.

Born April 29, 1927, in Furman, SC, Mrs. DeLoach was the daughter of the late Capers Blake Herndon and Julia Trowell Herndon. She was a graduate of Furman High School where she was in the 4-H Club and worked in child care for several years. Mrs. DeLoach primarily was a homemaker who enjoyed raising her grandchildren and occasionally going to the river. More than anything, she loved her family.

Mrs. DeLoach was a member of Furman Baptist Church.

Surviving are her grandsons: William A. "Ty" Tison, Jr. and his wife Charity of Furman, Charles Walton "Walt" DeLoach, Sr. and his wife April of Estill, and Wiley Blake DeLoach of Estill, six adored great-grandchildren: Rylee Tison, Faith Dixon, Walton DeLoach, Jr., Lexy Stanley, Kensley DeLoach, and Jaxon DeLoach, as well as her son-in-law, Brian Beard of Furman.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Fred Walton DeLoach, Sr., Mrs. DeLoach was predeceased by her son, Fred "Freddy" Walton DeLoach, Jr. and her daughter, Patricia DeLoach Beard.

Funeral Services will be 3 PM Sunday, September 28, 2025, in the Furman Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Steep Bottom Baptist Church Cemetery.

A visitation will begin at 2 PM and last until the hour of the service in the church sanctuary.
