Mrs. Betty Ann Smith Brunson, 79, of Halls Mill Road near Hampton, died Saturday evening, September 11, 2021, at the home of her son in Irmo, SC.
Mrs. Brunson was born May 20, 1942 in Jasper County, a daughter of the late George Powell Smith, Sr. and Lucille Davis Smith. She was a member of Brunson Baptist. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to caring for her family. The family always looked forward to her home cooked meals she prepared with her "special" touch.
Left to cherish her memories are her children: Belinda (Greg) Rentz of Ehrhardt, Ritchie (Suzette) Brunson of Irmo, Rose (Lamarr) Mock of Hampton, Johnny (Cindy) Brunson of Hampton and Jackie (Brian) Deloach of Hampton; 14 grandchildren: Christopher (Amanda) Brunson of Walterboro, Cassandra (Christopher) Miller of Lexington, Brandi (William) Varn of Branchville, Chasity (Tyler) Watkins of Hampton, Heather (Chad) Hiers of Hampton, Dustin (Jessie) Mock of Hampton, Laura (Garon) Blankenship of Ehrhardt, Dylan Mock of Hampton, Tristan Brunson of Hampton, Haley Brunson of Hampton, Cole Deloach of Hampton, Kayla Deloach of Hampton and John (JB) Deloach of Hampton; 15 great-grands: Summer Miller of Utah, Kaelyn Winter of Walterboro, Rylan Watkins of Hampton, Chase Miller of Lexington, Wesley Hiers of Hampton, Kynslie Varn of Branchville, Nathaniel Brunson of Walterboro, Aubrey Miller of Lexington, Sauls Varn of Branchville, Trey Hiers of Hampton, Adelyn Blankenship of Ehrhardt, Riley Brunson of Walterboro, Joanna Mock of Hampton and Baby Miller of Lexington; and one great-great-grand, Wesley Haney. Besides her parents, Mrs. Brunson was predeceased by her husband, Herman Brunson; her brothers, Henry Smith and G.P. Smith; her grandson, Charles Brunson; and her great-grandson, Liam Varn.
Graveside services will be 4 PM Sunday, September 19, 2021 at the Brunson Family Cemetery conducted by Rev. Dr. Tommy Kelly and directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home.
Friends may visit with the family immediately following the service.
