Audrey Mosley

Mrs. Audrey Crews Mosley, 86, of Hampton made her heavenly flight September 1, 2021, surrounded by family and friends.

Audrey was born April 10, 1935, the eldest daughter of the late Benjamin "Ben" Crews and the late Alice Peeples Crews of Cummings.  She graduated Valedictorian of her Varnville High School Class of 1953 and went on to become a registered nurse.  She cared for many patients throughout her career, working at hospitals in Hampton and Allendale counties.  She possessed a pure stubborn grace, the likes of which some have never seen.  She had a passion for flowers that was a true gift and could grow absolutely anything.  Audrey was a loyal and devoted wife to her late husband Tillman "Haig" Mosley.  She was an active member of Hampton First Baptist Church for many years, teaching Bible School, helping with missions and feeding shut-ins.  Above all else, Audrey loved her family.  She was a loving and attentive mother and grandmother, a wonderful sister and caring aunt.  Her favorite answer when asked how she was doing was always, "I'm fine".

Audrey is survived by her son, Wayne Mosley; her grandchildren: Andrew (Jessi) Mosley, Parker Mosley, Cody Mosley and Colton (Jessica) Mosley; her devoted sister-in-law and caretaker, Marjorie Crews and a host of nieces and nephews.  She is also fondly remembered by her special friend of many years, Mrs. Sarah Jo Withycombe.  She was predeceased by her daughter, Donna M. Winn; her brothers, Robert, Billy and Denver Crews; and her sister, Hazel Crews Mole.

Graveside services will be held at 5 PM Saturday, September 4, 2021 in the Sand Hill Cemetery, conducted by Rev. Mike Freeman and directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends for visitation Friday, September 3, 2021 from 4 to 8 PM at her home located at 301 West Pulaski Street in Hampton.
