Audrey Dobson Holley

Mrs. Audrey Dobson Holley of Hampton, widow of Hazil Lee Holley, died Sunday in the Pruitt Health Care Facility in Estill.

Mrs. Holley was born August 15, 1924 in Hampton County, a daughter of the late Johnnie E. Dobson and Nanny Ferguson Dobson.  She had worked for several years with Peeples Funeral Service in Hampton as bookkeeper and receptionist. She was a member of the Hampton First Baptist Church where she was instrumental in starting the Clothes Closet Ministry and was active with the WMU.  Mrs. Holley loved working with flowers and was a member of a local garden club, a volunteer with Hampton Regional Medical Center and other activities in the community.

Surviving are sons:  John B. Holley of Charleston, James "Jim" Holley and wife Robin of Hampton, and Thomas W. Holley and wife Alison of Summerville;  daughters: Brenda Holley and Ann H. Smith and husband Joe of Hampton;  brother:  Ellis Dobson of Ehrhardt;  grandchildren:  Maureen Avant, Keely Goff and husband Thomas, Lee King and wife Michele and Hunter T. Holley;  step-grandchildren:  Brian Smith and wife Kelly and Ashlyn Salvo;  great-grandchildren:  Avery, Candace, Cameron, Wesley and McKinley;  step-great-grandchildren:  Jasper and Vivian.  Mrs. Holley was predeceased by: her husband Hazil Lee Holley;  brothers:  Lyle, Harvey, Talley, Tommy and Corol;  sister:  Vivian; and a grandson:  Robert S. King, III.

Funeral services will be Friday at 2 PM in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Emerson Wiles with burial in the Lawtonville Cemetery in Estill.

Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 PM at the Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.
