Archie Freeman

Mr. Archie O. Freeman, 80, resident of Bamberg Highway near Hampton, SC, died Friday, November 22, 2024, at his residence.

Mr. Freeman was born on December 25, 1943, in Hampton County, a son of the late Jesse O. Freeman and Eula Lee Priester Freeman.  At the age of 17, Archie lost his father who was his best fishing buddy.  Despite losing his father at a young age, Archie remained in the family home becoming a steadfast pillar of support for his mother, brother, and two sisters.

Though life presented him with many challenges, he never allowed this to diminish his gift for planting a bountiful vegetable garden every spring and summer that he generously shared with family and friends.  Archie will be remembered for his gentle spirit and simple lifestyle that touched the lives of those who knew him.

Surviving are his sisters:  Doris Lorene Freeman and Mary Marguerite Freeman of the home.  He was preceded in death by both parents and a younger brother, Jesse Riley Freeman.

Graveside Services will be held at 2 PM on Monday, November 25, 2024, in the Rivers Cemetery conducted by Rev. Mike Freeman.

Visitation will be immediately after the service at the cemetery.

The family requests that those who wish may send memorials in Mr. Freeman's name to the Rivers Cemetery.
