Mrs. Annie Lou Smith Mock, 79, resident of Ram Horn Road near Varnville, SC, wife of the late Clyde Eldred Mock, died Wednesday, April 8, 2026, in the Colleton Medical Center.
Born November 27, 1946, in Ridgeland, Mrs. Mock was the daughter of the late Elliott Edward Smith, Sr. and Annie Lillian Davis Smith. She was a graduate of Wade Hampton High School and retired as the Postmaster of the Lobeco Post Office after many years of dedicated service. Mrs. Mock enjoyed gardening, flowers, and loved to fish and crab every chance she could.
Mrs. Mock attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Hampton.
Surviving are her sons, David Mock (Cindy) of Varnville and Clyde Mock (Mary) of Hampton; her grandchildren: Jason Mock, Justin Mock, Chris Altman (Elizabeth), and Cody Altman (Cheyenne), her great-grandchildren: Peyton, Skyler, Durham, and Ava; her sisters: Ola Faye Brown of Hampton and JoAnn McAlhaney of Varnville, and her brothers: Elliott Lee Smith of Varnville and Marvin Hoyt Smith (Jennifer) of Varnville. There are also many beloved nieces and nephews who survive.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Clyde Eldred Mock, she was predeceased by a brother, Elliott Edward Smith, Jr., a sister, Cheryl Kaye Smith, and two sisters-in-law, Annette Smith and Miriam Smith, and two brothers-in-law: James Brown and Mark McAlhaney.
Funeral Services will be 3 PM Sunday, April 12, 2026, in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Dr. Tommy Kelly. Burial will follow in the Gooding Cemetery near Hampton.
Visitation will begin at 2 PM and last until the hour of the service at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, Hampton Chapel located at 300 Mulberry St. W., Hampton, SC 29924.
The family requests that those who wish send memorials to the Gooding Cemetery.
