Mrs. Annette Smith Brown of Lento Road near Varnville, died Monday afternoon, July 03, 2023, in the Hampton Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Brown was born January 2, 1934 in Jasper County a daughter of the late Ruth Smith and Angie Stanley Smith. She had retired from Westinghouse Corp in Hampton as a Machine Operator, and was a member of the Nixville Baptist Church. Mrs. Brown was also a member of Lillie  Chapter of the Eastern Star.

Surviving are:  Sons:  Billy Brown and wife Maree of Varnville, and Wallace Brown of Yemassee; Daughter:  Betty Breland and husband Rodney of Ruffin; Brother:  Franklin Smith of Grays; and Sisters:  Elise Long of  Nixville, and Elaine Ginn of Nixville and husband Benjamin; Sister in law:  Judy Smith; 11 Grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren.

Mrs. Brown was predeceased by her husband:  William H. Brown; Daughter:  Roberta Cook; Siblings:  Lloyd Smith, Fred Smith, Margaret Smith, Evelyn Crapse, Shirley Long, Pauline Stanley, and Harrison Smith.

Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Friday, July 7, 2023 in the Nixville Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Alan Kircher, with burial in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery, directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 06, 2023, from 5 to 7 P. M. at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.
