Anne Solomons Harper

Mrs. Anne Solomons Harper, 91, a resident of Baker Boulevard in Estill, SC died peacefully early Monday morning, April 6, 2026, at her residence.

Born May 20, 1934, in Milledgeville, Georgia, Mrs. Harper was the only child of the late Elliott Tyler Solomons and Helen Wall Solomons.  She graduated from the University of South Carolina where she graduated in 1956 with a degree in secretarial science. Mrs. Harper loved the Estill community and enjoyed researching family and area history. She was also a talented writer who collected information and wrote up her husband's memoirs of the war years. She also assisted others by writing formal letters and offering advice on how to approach a difficult or unfamiliar situation.

Mrs. Harper was a longtime member of Lawtonville Baptist Church in Estill and was an active member of the Estill Book Club until the age of 80.

Mrs. Harper is survived by her daughter, Helen Harper Davis of Piedmont, SC, and her granddaughter, Marshall Elizabeth "Beth" Davis of Simpsonville, SC. There are also many beloved nieces and nephews who survive.

She is predeceased by her parents and her husband 54 years, John Lawton Harper.

Memorial Services will be 5 PM, Wednesday, April 15, 2026, in the Lawtonville Baptist Church in Estill, SC, conducted by Rev. Asbury Lawton. Private inurnment for immediate family only will follow in the Lawtonville Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 3 PM Wednesday and last until the hour of the service in the church sanctuary.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to either St. Jude's Children's Home or may plant a tree in memory of Mrs. Harper. Both were dear to her heart.
