Mrs. Anita Jean Nichols Lee, 80, of Gooding Street in Varnville, died Sunday night in the Roper Hospice Cottage in Mt. Pleasant.
Mrs. Lee was born April 3, 1938 in Boomer, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Woodrow Wilson Nichols and Virginia Prety Nichols. She was a bookkeeper and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Mrs. Lee devoted her time to caring for her family.
Surviving are: her husband: Edward Marion Lee of Varnville; daughters: Debbie Blakewood and husband Reggi of Brunson, Shera Brigman and husband Jim of Lexington, and Cathi Hiers and husband Joe of West Columbia; step-daughter: Stephanie Lee Scott of Brunswick, Georgia; brothers: Bill Nichols of Oldsmar, Florida and Richard Nichols of Oak Hill, West Virginia; and a sister: Faye Nichols. There are three grandchildren: Melody, Tyler, and Lauren.
Graveside services will be 11 AM Thursday in the Varnville Cemetery conducted by Bishop Dayne Mock and directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton.
Visitation will be immediately following the services at the cemetery.
The family suggests that those who wish may send memorials to the Roper Hospice Cottage, 676 Wando Park Blvd., Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464 or to the Hampton County Animal Shelter, 460 Cemetery Road, Varnville, SC 29944.
