Addie Melda Freeman Kinard

Mrs. Addie Melda Freeman Kinard (86) of Cain Street in Hampton died early Thursday morning at her residence.

Mrs. Kinard was born August 6, 1931 in Hampton County, a daughter of the late Frank Freeman and Elihue Terry Freeman Harvey.  She was a homemaker and  a member of the Hampton United Methodist Church where she was active with the Ladies Club and the Young at Heart.  Mrs. Kinard loved to cook and especially loved baking cakes.  She also had served as Treasurer for the Rivers Cemetery Association and was a member of the Bosom Buddies.

Surviving are:  Grandchildren:  Nicole Smith and husband Bryan of Grays and Kim Bridges of Charleston; Sister:  Eileen Sanders of Brunson;  two Great-Grandchildren:  Cade and Levi Smith; and two Sisters-in Law:  Kate Freeman of Varnville and Gladys Freeman of Hopkins and many nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Kinard was predeceased by: her Husband:  William Jackson (Jack) Kinard;  Daughter: Ann Bridges and her husband Andy;  Brothers: Lewis, Lockwood and Larry Freeman; and Sister: Dot Long.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday in the Hampton United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Ross Chellis with burial in the Rivers Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 PM at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.
