Mrs. Mamie Winona Johnson Youmans, 89, of Estill, died Friday, May 11th, 2012.
Born Sept. 25, 1922 in Savannah, GA, she was the daughter of the late Leroy Franklin Johnson, Sr. and Leottie Gertrude Helmly Johnson. She was a lifelong member of Lawtonville Baptist Church, where she was a member of the WMU, the Young at Heart, was a Sunday School Teacher and also took care of the nursery.
Married to the late John (J.T.) Theodore Youmans, she is survived by, two sons: Donald Youmans and wife Edith of Columbia and Larry Howard Youmans and wife Cheryl of Estill; three daughters: Gloria Y. Reynolds and husband Vernon, Barbara June Jarrell and husband Oliver, all of Estill and Mary Elizabeth Smith of Norwood, NC; one sister, Peggy J. Jarrell of Estill; 11 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. She was predeceased by one son, Theodore Rhodes Youmans, one daughter, Laura Gertrude Y. Beatty, one brother, Leroy Franklin Johnson, Jr. and two sisters, Doris Tucker and Mary Jane Moseley.
Graveside funeral services will be held Sunday, May 13, 2012 at 4 PM in the Lawtonville Cemetery, near Estill, conducted by Rev. Kristin Andreason.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 until 7 PM at PEEPLES-RHODEN FUNERAL HOME, ESTILL CHAPEL, 330 CLARKE AVENUE, ESTILL, SC 29918 and until the hour of the service on Sunday.
